Tay Ridge Farm, 18 miles (29Km) north of Fredericton, is the ideal location for sports recreation or a tranquil retreat.
Our Skijoring school offers an introduction to a back country adventure in which trained huskies work with skiiers on our woodland trails. Our trails are open for regular nordic skiing and snowshoeing, and the alpine ski resort at Crabbe Mountain is only a half hour's drive away.
We also run Wilderness Survival Courses in conjunction with Search and Rescue Services. In summer, we have hiking, interpretive walks, mountain biking, riding and canoeing excursions. Most equipment can be hired. Our hides or blinds provide ideal spots for observing wildlife. We run chartered Whale Watching and sightseeing tours in a six-berth motor tourer and we hold photography and art courses by arrangement.
The House is set in 600 beautiful acres of forest and medows through which runs the River Tay. Our two farm house guest rooms are cosy and comfortable, and each has a private bathroom. In the evening, guests may relax in the lounge, or in our interpretive center - the "Fox Den" - browse through the library or watch video movies and wildlife documentaries on the lounge TV. Breakfast includes homemade jam and free range eggs. We welcome pets and well-behaved children. Guests may bring their own alcoholic beverages.
